BMES Basketball Game
To kick off the new semester, BMES is hosting students to a Michigan Men's Basketball game this upcoming Sunday (1/13) at 7:30 PM Vs. Northwestern.
Any BMES members can come for free! Anyone else is welcome to come as well and tickets will be $20. We have 20 slots available so please contact me by email (hahnkarl@umich.edu) as soon as possible if you are interested in coming!
This is a great opportunity to come watch a great basketball game (Our team is still undefeated!!!) as well as hang out with your BME peers and relax before school really gets going.

EPIC Systems is a healthcare software company. The Biomedical Engineering Society will be hosting an event in which company representatives will come and speak about EPIC and the opportunities available at the company. This is a great way to network before the fall BME career fair! RSVP is required

Ever considered speed dating? Not sure what you want to do for the rest of your life? Or where you want to end up? Come talk with BME alumni who have ended up in wildly different industries, position types, and locations. These small group chats will allow you to interact with several different alumni in a little under and hour. Get your questions answered or just listen in, either way this is a great opportunity!
Company Tour
If you have ever wondered what a BME does on the job, this event is for you. Come tour a local company in order to see how your degree and experiences will be used in the workplace, while also seeing some of the amazing things biomedical engineers are working on!
Graduate Student Panel
Whether you are considering grad school or just looking for possibly options, make sure not to miss this panel! Current BME SUGS, Masters, and PhD students will be talking about the why they chose to continue their education, why they picked a particular degree, and what it takes to do research/thesis.
Pistons Game
Whether you have never left campus or are a Detroit frequenter, bring a friend and join BMES for a fun night at the new Little Caesars Arena downtown Detroit to cheer on the Pistons as they take on the L.A. Clippers. Transportation and tickets will be provided!
LinkedIn Workshop
Looking for an internship? Trying to find ways to market yourself and network but finding it difficult? Come hang out with BMES as a department representative walks students through what makes LinkedIn profiles successful, what recruiters are looking for, and ways to connect with the Michigan BME’s extensive alumni base on the site.
Grab and Go Breakfast
This is it. The dreaded first Monday of the semester, of the YEAR. If you are getting out of bed late, and your only groceries come from Walgreens have no fear, BMES is here. Swing by and pick up a bagel and assorted breakfast food to get you through the day.

A chance to get your questions answered. What does it take to get funding? What made you decide academia? All that and more can be answered by our wonderful panel of professors.
Ice Skating at Yost
Kick off December with ice skating at Yost! We will have the whole rink to ourselves, so whether you are an Olympic shoe-in or need to hold the rail, come and enjoy some time!
Faculty Research Seminar
Come hear about the research of four different faculty. Each presentation will be 15 minutes long, with a short 30 minute lunch. Will be located in the LBME atrium.
Resume Critiquing
If you haven't had a chance to get your resume reviewed, this is a perfect chance. Get advice before the BME career fair. Possible mock interviews in the works.
